Jaime and Miguel Torres found the Familia Torres company.

Construction of the headquarters building and the winery.

1928

First distillation

Juan Torres Casals, second generation of the Torres Family, starts using oak barrels to age brandy made from the best white wines in the Penedès.

1939

The winery and the
distillery are bombed

The winery is partially destroyed by the aerial bombings of 1939.

1940

Reconstruction
of the winery

Year in which the winery is rebuilt after the previous year's bombings. Production resumes.

1979

Creation of the winery in Chile
The first foreign winery

In this year the Torres Family founded the Miguel Torres Chile winery, with vineyards near the Andes and a small winery in Curicó (a city 200 km south of Santiago de Chile).

Torres 20
Named Best Brandy
in the World

For several years, Torres 20 is chosen as the Best Brandy in the World at the International Wine & Spirit Competition.

It also receives an award at the San Francisco World Spirits Competition in recognition of a brandy-making tradition stemming back almost a century.

2010 & 2015

Green Company
of the Year

The British magazine Drink Business honours Torres for its commitment to renewable energies at the fifth edition of the international Green Awards. A company committed to the environment.

2012

Launch of
El Gobernador

In the IV region, in the Limarí Valley (Chile), the Moscatel variety of grapes is harvested, perfect to flavour this wonderful creation: “El Gobernador”, the name of of our pisco chileno.

2013

Launch of Torres 15

2013 sees the launch of Torres 15, a versatile brandy specially created for mixing. A Torres Brandy release that pays homage to the early days of cocktail bars and mixing.

2015

the Best Brandy
in the World

This gem of a brandy receives the prize for Best Brandy in the World at the World Brandy Awards. A brandy aged in American oak barrels and inspired by the name and spirit of the company's founder.

2016

Launch of Magdala Orange Liqueur

Magdala is a Mediterranean orange liqueur made by steeping orange peel in grape brandy that is carefully distilled in small batches. Aging in old oak casks produces an aromatic elixir, silky in texture and exceptionally elegant.

2017

Torres 15
Best Solera Brandy
in the World

Torres 15 is named the Best Solera Brandy at the World Brandy Awards, one of the world's most prestigious competitions.

2020

New Torres 10 bottle design

Torres 10 is revamping its iconic image, redesigning its bottle and label so as to adapt to new times, while preserving its essence. 

2021

Launch of Torres Alta Luz

Unique in that it is a brandy made entirely with grapes, and transparent, with bright glints of light. It is the first cristalino brandy in history made in Barcelona.

2023

Launch of Casals vermouth

This is the first vermouth made with ancestral Catalan grape varieties, enhanced with Mediterranean botanicals from Penedes, Spain.
